"If you don't like the road you're walking on, start paving another." -Dolly Parton
Below is a letter I wrote to the girls around the world who are watching what we accept, tolerate and contribute. At times, it is easier to do what you're afraid of when there are people counting on you. We, women, have a responsibility to rise up and pave the path. There is no more room left for gender inequalities. Here is a note to all those watching us. May this motivate you in times of wavering decisions to live the life you want.
To all the girls watching,
Rest assured we are putting in the work.
Even when self-doubt and fear seep into our lives, we are rooted, knowing you are watching.
We turn being silenced, categorized, and derailed into the courage to rise.
Know that the freedom to be yourself is the road less traveled, but the only way home.
We are paving the path until you are the ones looking back at the girls watching you.
